The Gashouder, the iconic venue which was originally built between 1885 and 1887, and has been the original home of the Awakenings events since the late 1990s, is set to undergo significant renovations which will take place over the next 1.5 years, starting after the final set of parties held on December 28th, 29th and 31st, 2024.
This marks a temporary end to the venue’s role in hosting Awakenings’ renowned techno events, as the space will be closed for upgrades and improvements. The Gashouder’s history and association with the techno brand have made it a legendary location in the electronic music scene, but the renovations are necessary to preserve and enhance the structure for future use.
Some artists to perform in the final shows are Joris Voorn, Len Faki, Pan-Pot, Ben Klock, Nina Kraviz, Rødhåd, Anetha, FJAKK, Richie Hawtin, and more.
