Berlin-based artist Curses has unveiled the latest installment of his ‘Next Wave Acid Punx’ series. Building on two compilations exploring electronic music’s darker side, this new release features four tracks reimagined for modern clubs.
The collection presents 1980s tracks updated for contemporary dancefloors. Curses contributes two edits, complemented by interpretations from Melbourne’s Stockholm Syndrome and New York’s Andi.
Highlights include Curses’ remix of Deborah Sasson’s ‘Danger in Her Eyes,’ an opera-meets-electronic collaboration balancing theatrical elements with modern dance appeal. Curses also reinvents J.W.B. Hits The Beat’s ‘House Fatale,’ while Stockholm Syndrome transforms Voyou’s ‘Houseman’ and Andi reinterprets Philadelphia Five’s ‘Not Leaving Without Jerry.’
This collection bridges electronic music’s past and present, weaving together trance, EBM, house, and Latin freestyle elements.
