Bicep have returned to their DOVE alias with the release of ‘CHROMA 009 KR36’, the latest single on their CHROMA label. Out now, the cut is a collaboration with London-based artist Kehina, whose ethereal vocals weave through layers of restless drums and shifting synths.

Described by Bicep as “an extreme version of the Bicep sound—heavier but also calmer,” DOVE offers the duo a space to explore more experimental and non-linear studio ideas. It’s the second release under the alias, following last year’s ‘Bi83’.

Kehina shares, “It’s a dizzying, trance-like track that weirdly reminds me of a lot of the music my mum used to play when I was a kid, particularly North African Gnawa music. That same hypnotic rhythm, that trance you fall into while dancing.” She adds, “I recorded and wrote this a month or two after vocal surgery. It really helped pull me out of my head and reminded me why I love making music in the first place.”

The track continues Bicep’s ongoing CHROMA series, which has included releases under their B.D.B alias with Benjamin Damage, and singles such as ‘ROLA’, ‘STEALL’, and ‘TANGZ’ featuring Eliza. A full physical release compiling all CHROMA singles is expected later this year.
