DJ Nobu has been named ‘Best DJ’ at the first-ever Music Awards Japan, held at Kyoto’s ROHM Theatre on Wednesday, 21st May, 2025.
The Chiba-born DJ and producer received the honor in person during the event. The awards also paid tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, whose posthumous album ‘Opus’ – a recording of his final live performance – was recognized as best classical album. Meanwhile, Wednesday Campanella’s ‘Edison’ took home best dance/electronic song.
