Brooklyn-based artist and label head Nhii just presented his new three-track EP entitled ‘The Color Of Sound,’ now available on Sounds Of Khermit, fusing ancient spiritual storytelling with innovative electronic music.
Taking cues from Sun Ra and the cosmic vibrations of his Arkestra, ‘The Color Of Sound‘ merges raw analog textures, modular experimentation, and soulful house into a genre-blurring odyssey. The opening track, ‘The 3 VCO Getdown’, is a Moog-powered dancefloor-oriented cut. The title track incorporates a rare, authorized vocal sample from Sun Ra’s Seductive Fantasy, crafting a mind-bending tribute infused with cosmic jazz ethos and cutting-edge production finesse. Closing with ‘Butterflies & Trumpets,’ Nhii showcases a lighter, whimsical flair, featuring lively LFO-modulated trumpets and erratic wavetable arpeggios
