Universal Audio has introduced ‘Anthem’, a new analogue-flavoured software synthesizer designed for versatile sound creation across basses, pads, leads, and more.

Inspired by classic monophonic synthesizers but fully polyphonic in execution, ‘Anthem’ features a dual oscillator layout with additional noise and sub-oscillators. Its interface channels the spirit of the Minimoog, offering an analogue-style filter section, envelope controls for amplitude and filtering, and a single LFO for modulation. The synth emphasizes sculpting an intentionally imperfect analogue sound, with tools such as oscillator fine-tuning, detune control for unison stacking, and a mono mode for more weight in the signal.

To support a more vintage character, ‘Anthem’ also includes lo-fi-style processing: spring and plate reverbs, dub delays, chorus, and flanger effects. A built-in step sequencer allows for polyrhythmic, accent-heavy pattern design and textural layering.

The plug-in is available as a perpetual license at an introductory price of US$149, rising to US$199 later. Alternatively, users can access it through UAD’s Spark subscription for US$19.99 monthly or US$99 annually. Importantly, ‘Anthem’ runs natively and does not require a UAD DSP card.
