Ableton has released Live 12.3 into public beta, offering a major update that introduces powerful new features and effects. The free update is available now for users enrolled in Ableton’s public beta programme, with the official release expected in the coming months.
A key addition to Live 12.3 is its stem separation tool, available for Live 12 Suite and Push 3 Standalone. Developed in collaboration with Music.AI, the company behind the Moises app, the tool enables users to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and more from any audio clip directly within Live.
The update also introduces integration with Splice, allowing users to browse the platform’s vast sample library from within the Live browser. A new Search with Sound feature lets producers drag audio clips from their project into a Splice search, returning harmonically and rhythmically matched samples.
Live 12.3 enhances workflow with expanded bounce functions, including full group bounce support and a new Paste Bounced Audio tool for placing processed audio clips across different tracks. Effects updates include an overhauled Auto Pan-Tremolo device, with new modulation options and a switchable panning/tremolo layout. All native devices now feature an A/B comparison tool for instant preset evaluation.
Push and Note also receive updates, with gesture-based controls on Push and a new Drum Rack layout, alongside firmware enhancements for Move. Users with a Live 12 license can access the beta at no cost by joining Ableton’s public testing programme.
