Vocal trio Dames Brown will release their long-awaited debut album, ‘Take Me As I Am’, on January 21st, 2026, via Defected Records. Presented by the late Amp Fiddler, the album is both a celebration of Detroit’s sonic legacy and a tribute to the iconic producer’s final project. Offering an early glimpse into the project, the trio have shared the lead single ‘You’re The One For Me’.

“To watch our seeds rooted in pure soul blossom into ‘Take Me As I Am’ is sublime,” shared the group. “This collection of songs offers a glimpse into our interpretation of house music, as it draws on the influences of techno, P-Funk, gospel, and 1970s soul.”

Recorded primarily at Fiddler’s home studio, the album blends raw spontaneity with lush instrumentation, highlighting Dames Brown’s signature vocal power and deep-rooted connection to Detroit’s musical lineage. Contributors include Andrés, Eddie Fowlkes, Waajeed, Paul Randolph, Chris Bruce, and Will Sessions, with a Moodymann remix of the title track set to follow the release.

‘Take Me As I Am’ includes standout cuts like ‘You’re The One For Me’, ‘Glory’, ‘What Would You Do’, and the title track. Each song reflects stories of love, resilience, and self-acceptance.
