Red Axes have unveiled their latest album, ‘LOUD’, marking a bold evolution in their sound. Out now via EMK, the LP includes the previously released singles ‘Home “La La La”’, ‘Girl’, and ‘Freak’.
Known for sidestepping conventional genre boundaries, the Israeli duo embrace punk, indie, and rock influences on ‘LOUD’. Tracks like ‘Girl’ offer a stripped-down, alt-rock atmosphere reminiscent of Velvet Underground or War on Drugs, while cuts such as ‘Freak’ and ‘Home “La La La”’ tap into a raw post-punk drive, drawing comparisons to acts like Viagra Boys and Warmduscher.
Over 15 years, Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik have performed at Coachella, Glastonbury, Berghain, and DC-10. After starting in psychedelic rock band Red Cotton, they became Red Axes upon moving to Amsterdam, releasing EPs, remixes, and albums on labels like Phantasy, Life & Death, !K7, and Crosstown Rebels.
After albums including ‘Ballad of the Ice’, ‘The Beach Goths’, ‘Red Axes’, and ‘One More City’, this LP takes a raw, guitar-driven approach rooted in their club culture background. Influences from Franz Ferdinand, MGMT, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard appear throughout.
