Whether performing live or behind the decks, Hugo and Jimmy are true selectors, celebrated for balancing deep cuts, edits, and euphoric classics with effortless precision.
Since emerging from Sydney’s club scene in 2008, the pair have earned global recognition through tracks like ‘Crave You’, their ‘Down to Earth’ debut album, and high-profile collaborations with artists such as Channel Tres, Broods, and DRAMA. Their signature blend of emotional storytelling and dancefloor energy has seen them sell out major tours, rack up over a billion streams, and bring a distinct sound to stages from Coachella to Ibiza.
As they gear up for San Diego’s PROPER NYE/NYD 2025, the duo shares a selection of tracks that haven’t left their record bag this year. Blending nostalgic anthems, personal edits, and enduring favorites, the list captures the energy of a peak-time dancefloor while staying rooted in the emotional thread that defines all their sets.
1. Cut Copy – Hearts on Fire
“Probably my favourite track ever (Hugo). I’ll be buried with this one. It still feels emotional and euphoric in a really understated way, and it never stops working.”
2. Crazy P – Never Gonna Reach Me (Hot Toddy Remix)
“We always seem to come back to this. It’s warm, a little loose, and feels like it was made by people who actually go out dancing.”
3. Jamiroquai – Space Cowboy (David Morales Classic Club Mix)
“Still goes ridiculously hard on a big system. One of those tracks that reminds you why dancefloors exist in the first place.”
4. Justice – Newjack
“This has been a favourite deep cut for years. Not the one everyone expects, which makes it even more fun when it lands.”
5. Flight Facilities & Broods – Forever In My Room
“A new one for us. We had to do something with the classic ‘Come Into My Room’ sample. Too good not to flip.”
6. Bee Gees – You Should Be Dancing (Todd Terje Edit)
“This edit refuses to age. Familiar enough that everyone knows what’s coming, but it still gets that little “oh yeah” reaction every time.”
7. Jayda G – Both Of Us
“This is officially a modern classic now, right? I think so. Lucky enough to bring her out to Aus for our Airfields festival after the Covid doors reopened.”
8. Daft Punk – Digital Love
“Daft Punk were a huge reason we started making dance music. We still love sneaking this in when it feels right and watching the room light up.”
PROPER NYE/NYD 2025 takes place December 31, 2025 – January 1, 2026 at Petco Park in San Diego. Grab your tickets here.
