The documentary series ‘Behind the Counter’ is back for its seventh season, with 12 new episodes set to spotlight independent record stores across the UK. The new season premieres January 27th, 2026, and will run weekly until Record Store Day on April 18th.
Launched six years ago, ‘Behind the Counter’ has become one of the UK’s most widely viewed series dedicated to record store culture, amassing over 5.6 million views and featuring 70 shops to date. Season seven continues this tradition, presented by Record Store Day and Classic Album Sundays in partnership with Bowers & Wilkins.
New episodes will feature stops at Bristol’s Black City Records, Glasgow’s Monorail Music, Newcastle’s Vinyl Guru, Edinburgh’s Underground Solution, London’s Roan Records, and Hull’s Wrecking Ball, among others.
“There’s truly no greater way to explore new music than at a record store with knowledgeable staff and that’s the fundamental reason why our ‘Behind the Counter’ series celebrates these passionate people and institutions,” says Classic Album Sundays founder Colleen Murphy. “Long live the record shop!”
The new season will be available to watch via Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube, with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.
