Their sound has developed through a close collaborative process, resulting in a distinct musical identity shaped both in the studio and on the dancefloor.

The pair gained international attention in 2023 with an edit on Adam Ten’s Maccabi House, earning widespread support. They have since continued releasing edits and original material, including a 2025 track on Classmatic’s Organic Pieces, while performing across Israel and abroad.

In this conversation, SIK&SEM open up about their creative process, artistic identity, and what lies ahead.

EG: Hi, guys! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing?

SIK&SEM: Hi! Thank you very much for the invitation, it’s a real pleasure to be here with you. We’ve been doing great lately. The past period has been very intense and exciting for us with a lot of work in the studio, new music on the way, and opportunities to present our sound in different places. We’re really enjoying the process and the way everything is evolving.

EG: First of all, thank you for your contribution to our EG AFTER podcast series. What can you tell us about this mix? Is there a concept driving this mix? How do you usually approach this kind of set?

SIK&SEM: The mix was built with the idea of telling a story rather than just presenting a collection of tracks. We wanted to combine the music that is influencing us right now with the direction we’re heading toward, and create a set that feels both deep and moving. When we approach this kind of set, we think less about peaks and more about flow, energy, and connection with the crowd.

EG: By the way, congratulations on the drop of your first EP, ‘Loca’. How are you feeling about this one now that it’s been out and about for a couple of months? What has the reception been like so far?

SIK&SEM: It was a very meaningful moment for us because that EP opened many doors. RISQUÉ welcomed us like family, and the reactions to the release were very warm, both from the crowd and from DJs we truly respect. It gave us confidence that we’re on the right path. At the same time, it also made us even more hungry to continue refining and shaping our sound.

EG: 2025 was a rather intense year for you guys as you hit the studio running to deliver your first official releases. What has that experience been like? How do you guys usually work in the studio? Do you have set roles for each of you?

SIK&SEM: 2025 was a very important year for us. During that time we refined our musical color and learned a lot about what we expect from ourselves and how we imagine our future. This came through constant work in the studio and receiving positive affirmation from people we deeply respect as well as from the wider audience. Our work in the studio is a process that has been developing for several years and is still evolving.

At the beginning there were many stages of learning about each other. We had to understand how each of us thinks musically, how we make decisions, and how to build a shared language. Today there is a much more natural understanding between us and a musical communication that continues to improve over time. It’s very important for us to understand each other’s strengths and through that create harmony in the music making process.

Both of us are very driven to create new ideas and improve every day. When it comes to the deeper stages and the final polish, Sik usually goes deeper into the details and leads the closing stage to make sure the track feels complete and precise. Once we both love the final result, we move the idea forward and hope for the best Lol.

“It’s not just about releasing music but about building a language, a world and a story around what you do”

EG: Speaking about releases, is there anything that you can anticipate on that front for 2026?

SIK&SEM: In the coming year we have several releases that we’re very excited about. Among them will also be our first tracks with original vocals, which is a significant step for us because it allows us to bring more identity and expression into the music. In addition, there are a few very interesting collaborations currently in progress with artists we respect and have a natural connection with. We feel that the music coming out this year is very original and special for us. It’s music that doesn’t just continue the path we started, but really helps shape the sound and character of the project.

EG: Alongside releases, you guys are also developing your TEMA concept. Can you explain what TEMA is all about?

SIK&SEM: TEMA was born from our desire to create something that goes beyond a regular party or event. It’s a platform that connects music, people, artistic vision and experience. The inspiration came after we attended several TEMA parties in Ibiza where we truly felt the difference compared to a regular party, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to bring here as well.

The values that guide TEMA are human connection, musical depth and authenticity. It’s important for us to create an environment where people feel part of something and not just like a crowd coming to consume music. For us it’s a world that allows us to express our sound in a complete way through the music, the visuals and the energy around it.

EG: Now, back to your roots..how did you guys connect? Was the idea of SIK&SEM an instant one? How would you define your musical backgrounds?

SIK&SEM: We met a few years ago through a mutual friend and already during the first conversations we realized we were speaking the same musical language. It was a direction that also felt a bit different from what was common in Israel at the time, and that’s exactly what created the initial connection between us. There was a feeling that we were both searching for something similar in sound and approach.

We met for a first session in a caravan studio that Sik was using. It wasn’t a particularly glorious moment, but we did understand that there was something there. We knew it would be a process and a long path of learning, trial and error until finding a shared language. Over time, through a lot of work and many hours in the studio, that connection deepened and became what it is today.

EG: Now, given your experience in our scene, what are some of the biggest challenges artists will face in the near future? Is there any piece of advice you have for your colleagues in that sense?

SIK&SEM: The scene today has become very crowded and fast, and it feels like everything is happening at a very high pace with releases, trends and social media. One of the biggest challenges is managing to maintain a real identity within all this noise and not getting lost in the attempt to keep up.

We also feel there is a challenge when it comes to depth. It’s not just about releasing music but about building a language, a world and a story around what you do. Our advice to colleagues is to focus on the long term and try to build something that feels right and authentic, not just something that works at the moment. In the end people can feel when there is honesty behind the music, and that is what lasts.

” Our work in the studio is a process that has been developing for several years and is still evolving”

EG: What’s next for SIK&SEM? Where can your fans catch you next?

SIK&SEM: The next stage for us is focused on continuing to develop our sound and releasing music that feels accurate to who we are. We are working on quite a lot of new material including collaborations and releases that we strongly believe in. At the same time we continue building the world around the project through the concepts we are developing and through the connection with the audience.

When it comes to performances we try to carefully choose the places and events where we play, places that feel right for us both musically and energetically. The best way to keep up with us is through our social media where people can see where we will be playing and what is coming next.

EG: Thank you so much for your time, guys! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!

SIK&SEM: Thank you very much for the invitation and for giving us the platform to share a bit of our story. We truly appreciate the support and look forward to what’s ahead. See you on the dance floors!
