EG SPOTLIGHT.332 Alex Cecil

Alex Cecil steps into the EG Spotlight series with a mix that says a lot about where he stands right now. Built entirely from his own productions, this debut offers a clear view into his musical identity, one shaped by club energy, personality, and a strong sense of direction.

With roots in both Miami and New York City, Cecil has earned attention for a sound that moves with freedom between indie techno, left leaning club moods, and playful late night tension. That approach has taken him to rooms and festivals such as Burning Man, Hideout Croatia, Floyd, Do Not Sit, House of Yes, and Amsterdam’s A’dam Tower, while sharing lineups with names like DJ Tennis, Maceo Plex, Bob Moses, Art Department, Paco Osuna, and Stacey Pullen.

Music has been part of his life from the start. A classically trained cellist who performed at Carnegie Hall, Cecil later found his path in electronic music through deep exposure to New York nightlife and club culture. That background still shows in his work today, where musicality and instinct meet dance floor focus.

His early releases made an immediate mark. Debut single “Alpha Lupi” reached the top spot on Traxsource’s techno chart, followed by several top 10 cuts across labels including Lost On You, 925 Music, Rvdiovctive, and Deep Playa. More recent singles like “Bump It” and “Chismosa” keep building that momentum.

For his first EG Spotlight appearance, Alex Cecil keeps it personal. No fillers, no shortcuts, just his own records from start to finish. The result is a confident statement from an artist with a clear voice and plenty more to say.
