Based in Paris, he has been building a distinct voice, balancing melancholy, tension, and groove across both his productions and DJ sets. Following earlier work including ‘Long Kiss Goodnight’ alongside Birds of Mind and Ramyen on Knee Deep, he now steps forward with his first solo EP on Notre Dame’s Paranormal imprint.
Out now, ‘All I Do’ marks a new chapter in Juliann’s trajectory, refining his sonic identity while connecting club functionality with emotional depth.
In this conversation, Juliann opens up about the creative process behind the EP, his artistic direction, and what lies ahead.
EG: Hi, Juliann! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing?
Juliann: Thanks for having me! I’m doing really well. I’m pretty busy at the moment between gigs and the studio, but it’s a good kind of tired. I feel like things are really starting to fall into place, so I’m just trying to stay focused and keep building.
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your most recent EP, ‘All I Do’! You must still be excited to have this one out. What has the initial reception been like so far?
Juliann: Thank you so much! Yeah, I’m really happy with this release. The early feedback has been very positive. I’ve received a lot of messages, and quite a few DJs are already playing it in clubs, which is always the best kind of feedback. It’s a very honest project for me, so seeing it resonate like that feels really rewarding.
EG: We know that you’re very proud of the sound you have achieved on this EP. What was the recording process for these tracks like? Do you view it as a change in direction or a refinement of a particular idea?
Juliann: It was quite an intense process. I spent a lot of time on details, especially textures and groove, but also melodies, with a strong desire to bring a slightly 90s-inspired colour to the project. I wouldn’t call it a turning point, more of an evolution, a refinement of what I’ve been trying to do for a while. I feel like I’m getting closer to something more personal, something that really reflects what I genuinely connect with.
“I’d love to see more risk-taking, more personality, and less standardisation overall”
EG: ‘All I Do’ also signals your debut on Notre Dame’s Paranormal imprint. What does this mean on a personal level? Did you have a prior relationship with Notre Dame?
Juliann: Yeah, absolutely. We met in Paris when we were both playing at Mirage Club, and I also had the chance to open for him at Gate Club. We’ve stayed in touch since then. I’ve always respected his universe and the Paranormal label, so releasing this EP there feels very natural and, above all, very meaningful to me. It really feels like joining a family.
EG: By the way, you have just joined OMT Agency for worldwide bookings. Congratulations. What can we expect from this relationship moving forward? How do you feel about this “new beginning”?
Juliann: Thank you! I’m really happy about this new step. It marks a real turning point in how I’m structuring my project, both musically and professionally. OMT has a very strong vision, and I feel we can build something solid together over the long term. It’s a very inspiring collaboration.

EG: On to a broader subject… What would you like to accomplish as an artist this year? Is there something tangible that you’d like to go for?
Juliann: I have several goals, but mainly I want to release music on labels that have inspired me for a long time, and continue developing my identity, both musically and visually. I already have a release coming on Azzur in May. Given that Meloko and I have already collaborated on one of my previous releases, signing with his label feels like a natural next step. I’m really looking forward to sharing all of this with you very soon.
EG: What are some of the challenges artists will face in the near future? What advice would you give to your colleagues? What would you like to see more and less of?
Juliann: I think the biggest challenge is staying authentic in a scene that moves very fast and can sometimes feel quite uniform. It’s easy to follow trends. The real challenge is taking the time to develop your own language. I’d love to see more risk-taking, more personality, and less standardisation overall.

EG: What’s next for Juliann? Where can your fans catch you next?
Juliann: I’ll be playing all around Europe this summer, with dates in Paris, Italy, and quite a few smaller festivals that I really enjoy because the energy there feels freer and more spontaneous. It’s a period I’m really looking forward to, because it allows me to test a lot of music in real conditions, see what works, what evolves, and keep bringing the tracks to life outside the studio.
EG: Thank you so much for your time, Juliann! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!
Juliann: Thank you! And thanks for all the support, it really means a lot. See you on the dancefloor.
