The Avalanches and Jamie xx have released ‘Every Single Weekend’, alongside a new video that continues the band’s use of advertising-inspired imagery.
The track originally appeared as an interlude on Jamie xx’s ‘In Waves’ and now returns in expanded form through The Avalanches. It follows previous collaborations between both acts, including ‘Wherever You Go’ and ‘All You Children’.
Speaking about the release, The Avalanches said: “We’ve loved collaborating with Jamie xx over the years – his ‘In Colour’ album reignited our passion for sampling, and this track is all about letting go, forgetting the 9-5 grind and enjoying every single weekend.”
The video draws from the language of commercial campaigns, with the press materials referencing the fictional El Dorado soda and Takumi Digital Archives as part of its visual world.
