Mondo Love & Betrayal have released ‘Seppuku’, the latest single from their forthcoming debut album, due out on September 11th, 2026, via NuNorthern Soul.
The project brings together Neil ‘Nail’ Tolliday and Henry Claude Scott, who continue to shape a sound rooted in 80s synth-pop, Balearic textures, and electronic songwriting. ‘Seppuku’ follows previous singles ‘Correspondence’, ‘Your Latest’, and ‘Beyond The Rainy City’, all set to appear on the duo’s debut album.
Built around warm electronics, electric piano motifs, drifting synths, and a sparse drum machine rhythm, ‘Seppuku’ contrasts bright melodic details with darker lyrical themes. The track was inspired by the “twee but dark” duality of Appalachian folk music, with its lyrics centering on a narrator witnessing friends and colleagues disappear through a suicide pact.
