“For my second Electronic Groove mix, I wanted to share a selection of records that have genuinely inspired me over the past few months, deep, soulful, and subtly hypnotic.

Rather than chasing big moments, the mix is about creating a continuous flow where groove, atmosphere, and emotion take centre stage.

It opens with AVEM’s beautiful ‘Zaid’ before moving through the soulful sounds of Jovonn and the deeper drive of Rick Wade. Along the way, you will hear Shanti Celeste’s brilliant remix, m0at’s irresistible version of ‘Freedom’, and the energy of Bawrut and Hard Fist’s ‘Mas Alla’.

The second half moves into more hypnotic territory with Midland, Fort Romeau, and Enlusion, before introducing a forthcoming Deetron remix due this September. I also wanted to include Dutch talent Hidde van Wee, whose ‘I’m Here To Stay’ sets the stage for Daphni’s ‘Eleven’, a closing track that made the mix feel complete.

Bart van Rijn returns to Electronic Groove with his second mix for the series, presenting a deep and patient selection shaped by house, techno, and hypnotic club music.

Based in Amsterdam, the Dutch DJ, producer, and curator has spent years building a reputation through his STUG events and STUG Music label. His approach draws from a wide musical range, connecting warmth, groove, and atmosphere without becoming tied to one genre.

Van Rijn has shared lineups with artists including Carl Craig, Luke Slater, Radio Slave, Joris Voorn, Patrice Bäumel, and Bart Skils. His releases and label work have also received support from Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, Jimpster, and Groove Armada.

The mix arrives ahead of his debut album, Sketches, set for release on July 31st, 2026, through STUG Music. Across 13 tracks, the album moves between techno, trance, progressive music, house, and experimental interludes.

Rather than sounding like a loose collection of ideas, Sketches presents a carefully connected body of work. Its pacing reflects van Rijn’s experience as a DJ, with each track adding tension, contrast, or space to the record’s wider flow.

For his latest EG appearance, van Rijn brings together recent inspirations from AVEM, Jovonn, Rick Wade, Midland, Fort Romeau, Enlusion, Deetron, Hidde van Wee, and Daphni.
