Josh Wink has released his new single ‘Futurama’ via Ovum Recordings, drawing inspiration from a rediscovered recording of his first Los Angeles performance at the 1994 rave of the same name. Unearthed while exploring his archives in 2025, the decades-old tape prompted the Philadelphia producer to revisit the energy and spirit that shaped his early years behind the decks.

Rather than recreating the past, Wink uses that experience as the foundation for a contemporary club record. Built around rolling grooves, hypnotic acid lines, and steadily unfolding tension, ‘Futurama’ channels the raw atmosphere of the early rave era while remaining firmly rooted in modern production.

The release reflects an approach that has defined the artist’s career for more than three decades. Moving fluidly between house, techno, and acid, he has remained one of electronic music’s most influential figures through his productions, remixes, and the continued evolution of his Ovum Recordings imprint.
