Brazilian producers Melon Blush and ZXNX have joined forces for ‘SMAK!’, a two-track EP marking the return of Not Another after nearly three years without new releases. The release also signals a new chapter for the Recife-based label as it prepares to revive its showcase events alongside a fresh wave of music.

Opening the EP, ‘Dirtyzona’ draws from breakbeat, electro, and UK bass, pairing fractured rhythms with distorted grooves and saturated synth textures. According to the duo, the track’s title originated from a WhatsApp voice message describing the music as simply “dirty,” an idea that ultimately shaped its identity.

The title track moves into techno while maintaining the pair’s genre-blurring approach. Built through collaborative studio sessions in Ableton Live, ‘SMAK!’ combines evolving synth sequences, driving percussion, and analog-inspired textures influenced by classic machines including the Juno-106, TR-808, and TR-909.

The EP has already received early support from Adriatique, Paco Osuna, Fedele, and Joseph Capriati, further building momentum ahead of the label’s next phase.
