The resurgence of progressive house in recent years has a lot to do with the promoters taking risks to bring these parties to life. One of these promoters, Graham Chalmers, created a brand that put Glasgow on the map. Skyline became so much more than just a brand; it became a community of loyal fans, including the best DJs across the progressive house genre. From Argentina to Australia, the Skyline decks were always graced with an incredible lineup, from legends to the freshest talent.

With the end of Skyline in Glasgow earlier this year, we were happy that the Skyline crew were invited to return to Balance again this year. We attended the boat party and the finale at the Yard stage; both were big highlights of the week! The boat party began with Nico Rada, who played a gorgeous set that took us into the sunset before handing over to Danny Howells. The goosebumps didn’t stop all day long! You know a party is going to be extra special when a boat of legends turns up, including Anthony Pappa, his wife Louise, Graziano Raffa, Nick Varon, and Hernan Cattaneo, who surprised us halfway through to join the second half of the party. The love on the boat was palpable; the Scots were proudly waving their flag and, by the end, we were nearly in tears when Danny Howells played ‘One More Sky,’ which he produced with Lloyd Barwood for the Emerge compilation. It’s an amazing compilation out on Mango Alley, featuring a playlist of tracks created in honor of Skyline by artists who played there over the years, like Anthony Pappa, Hernan Cattaneo, Zankee Gulati, and many more. If you still haven’t heard it, check it out!
The final goodbye to Skyline was at the Yard stage with Anthony Pappa and Dave Seaman, who played an incredible set, proving once again that they are true pioneers. Their B2Bs are full of energy and flawless mixing. It was a bittersweet goodbye, seeing the Skyline brand for the very last time, but the memories made will live on forever through the friendships formed on the dance floors and the community it has given us. Now it is time for a fresh start with EMERGE!
EMERGE will host its first party in a new venue in Glasgow this Sunday with an amazing lineup from down under, kicking off with Jamie Stevens followed by Melbourne legends Kasey Taylor & Anthony Pappa going B2B for five hours!
There are a few final tickets that you can get here.
