Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio to cease operations in June

The final emission is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th.

After 10 years, Red Light Radio broadcasts will end next month. According to a statement on its social media channels, the Amsterdam-based station notifies that their Oudekerksplein location was always seen as temporary, but the unfortunate global scenario means the farewell is closer than ever.

After the closure, it will be moving into a new base, together with Redlight Records, closer to the RLR AMS Shop. Per the statement, ‘This move means we’ll no longer present a daily radio program’, but future events would include ‘listening sessions and get-togethers’, and the radio planned to continue broadcasting from live events and festivals.

Red Light Radio hosted regular shows from local DJs and crews like Dekmantel, Cinnaman, San Proper, and Lullabies For Insomniacs, among others.
