Icelandic avant-garde icon Björk is set to release ‘Cornucopia: The Book,’ a lavish 480-page tome chronicling her groundbreaking ‘Cornucopia’ tour. This upcoming publication, due on November 15th, 2024, promises to be as innovative as the performances it documents.
Designed by M/M Paris studio, the book features 313 images by Santiago Felipe, capturing the tour’s essence and showcasing projections and artwork by Tobias Gremmler and others. The result is a kaleidoscopic journey through Björk’s creative universe, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.
The ‘Cornucopia’ tour, which ran from 2019 to 2023, was a testament to Björk’s artistic vision. By combining virtual reality with traditional theatrical elements, the Icelandic artist created an immersive spectacle that defied categorization. This innovative approach to live performance earned Björk the AIM’s Best Live Performer award in 2023.
Delving deeper into the book’s contents, readers will discover an intriguing narrative thread: the alchemical transformation of an avatar from injury to healing. This subplot mirrors the tour’s overarching themes, adding another layer of depth to the rich visual narrative.
The publication’s attention to detail extends to its physical form, featuring high-quality printing, vibrant color reproduction, and a durable design with a special varnish. An additional 16-page booklet provides further insights into the creative process.
Pre-orders for this limited-edition book are now available on Björk’s official website.
