Bonobo has announced his new album, ‘Distance In Static’, alongside the release of its lead single, ‘Me and You’. Out now, the track introduces the producer’s next chapter while offering a glimpse into the club-focused direction of the forthcoming LP.

Set for release on September 11th, 2026, via Ninja Tune, ‘Distance In Static’ features collaborations with Joy Crookes, Arooj Aftab, Nilüfer Yanya, Nicole Miglis, Ichiko Aoba, Aanya Martin, and Kanako Yamamoto. The record was developed across sessions in Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and California’s Broken Arrow Ranch, combining processed instrumentation with influences that span multiple languages and musical traditions.

The announcement also marks the unveiling of a new Bonobo Live production, created with acclaimed designer Pierre Claude, whose previous work includes projects for Air, Gesaffelstein, Phoenix, and Caroline Polachek. The show will debut this November as part of a headline North American tour. Tickets available here.

According to Simon Green, the album reflects the balance between his identities as a live performer and DJ, while also serving as a milestone after more than 25 years of recording and touring. He has also suggested that ‘Distance In Static’ may be the final Bonobo release built around the traditional album-and-live-band touring cycle.
