Carsten Klemann, former Watergate resident, has died

He was 41 years old.

Beloved DJ, producer, and Watergate resident Carsten Klemann has passed away at 41, according to Resident Advisor. Reports indicate he left us earlier this week, but the cause of death is yet undetermined.

Born in Berlin in 1980, Klemann took his first steps as he joined Berlin DJ collective 61 Rocker, having a hand in one of the most iconic nights in the city, Hard:Edged, founders of Watergate. Klemann became a resident at the revered nightclub, and was a regular at venues such as OstGut and Panorama Bar.

With Nick Höppner and Lee Jones, Carsten would go on to form DJ and production trio My My. Through Klemann, the trio picked up a monthly residency at Watergate and released their one studio album via Berlin imprint Playhouse.
