House vocalist Moné, born Ramona DeSouza, has died. The news was announced by Traxsource on Instagram on August 18th, 2026. No cause of death was disclosed.
Raised in a Pentecostal Christian family, DeSouza began singing in church before starting her professional career in 1994 with ‘A Better Way’, released on Bassline Records and produced by Brian Tappert and Roy Grant of Jazz-N-Groove Productions.
She later became closely associated with Strictly Rhythm, scoring chart success with ‘We Can Make It’, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, and ‘Movin’, which peaked at No. 2.
Moné also appeared alongside Barbara Tucker, Dajae, and Ultra Naté as B Crew on ‘Partay Feeling’. She continued recording into the 2000s and returned to Strictly Rhythm in 2010 with ‘L.O.V.E Don’t Pay The R.E.N.T.’
