Charles Levine and Martin Buttrich collaborate on ‘Festival Queen’

Now available via Stratasonic.

Charles Levine, celebrated as one half of the duo Soul Clap, teamed up with producer and Grammy nominee Martin Buttrich for their new EP, ‘Festival Queen,’ via the emerging label Stratasonic.

The release kicks off with ‘Festival Queen,’ a robust track featuring angelic vocals and percussive grooves. Following this, a pulsating, stripped-back Dub version highlights the synth work.

‘Festival Queen Reprise,’ devoid of drums, offers a more ethereal experience ideal for winding down. Another standout track, ‘Charlie & The Moog,’ is a playful and trippy piece with languid synths injecting energy into the loose-limbed drums. A dub version adds an even more woozy dimension.

Their collaboration dates back to 2016 when Buttrich contributed to Soul Clap’s self-titled second album, released on !K7 Records, by mixing and adding production. This partnership has grown into a close friendship, marked by numerous studio sessions, moments of creative synergy, and deep philosophical discussions.
