Chicago’s Acid House celebration ‘Viva Acid’ returns in October

Viva Acid, Chicago’s renowned event organizers, announces their fourth annual talks and workshops series celebrating the city’s Acid house scene. From October 3rd to 6th, 2024, the Podlasie Club will host this event, uniting music enthusiasts, professionals, and artists in the birthplace of Acid House.

This four-day reunion will offer an immersive experience with accessible events, engaging workshops, and thought-provoking talks. Viva Acid 2024 aims to foster creativity, innovation, and community connections in the music scene. This year’s theme emphasizes building resilient music communities through collective creativity.

Diverse industry talks will be held on topics like ‘Maximizing Reach’ and ‘Marketing Authenticity,’ alongside production workshops covering ‘Approaching Remixing’ and ‘Creating What You Hear.’ Speakers and mentors include scene pioneers Gene Farris, DJ Hyperactive, Radio Slave, and Glenn Underground.

A highlight of the event will be the premiere of ‘Children Of Acid’ on Thursday, October 3rd. This in-depth documentary—a collaboration between Viva Acid and production company Baffe—promises a rich exploration of the Acid House legacy.

Viva 2024 will showcase live performances by  Radio Slave, Flores Negras, Lauren Flax b2b DJ Slugo, Steve Noah, Microdot, and Glenn Underground.
