D-Edge Records presents Arnaldo Baptista remix LP

The project brought together 15 producers to promote music consistent with the imperative of the 21st century: sustainable development.

Arnaldo Baptista emerged from the distortions of Brazilian psychedelic rock in the 60’s to make history, whether as a solo artist or with the band Os Mutantes — with works that reached the ears of David Byrne, Kurt Cobain, and Sean Lennon. Now, in a project headed by expressive figures of Brazilian music, ‘To Burn or Not to Burn’ has been reimagined in 15 new versions.

Bmind, DJ Mari Rossi, Flu, GALIZA, Glocal, Holocaos, L_cio, Magal, Marco Andreol, Renato Patriarca, Renato Poletto, Renato Ratier, Ricardo Koji, Tata Ogan, Thomash, and Zopelar are the interpreters who echo between the new generations by Baptista’s questions on sustainable development, which is manifested in the ubiquitous minimalist poem and which is inspired by the great Shakespearean question.

The project started in 2010, but only at the beginning of this year it managed to gain strength. Carried out by Holocaos and Sonia Maia, with artistic curatorship by Marco Andreol, it was made possible by the D-EDGE Records label. The compilation was carefully finalized by Vantonio, who respected each of the sound universes and Arnaldo Baptista’s preference for analog equipment.
