Thomas Bangalter made his return to DJing after 16 years, joining Fred again.. for an unannounced b2b set on Friday, October 25th, 2025, in Paris.
The pair took the stage during Busy P and Erol Alkan’s set at Because Beaubourg, a special event at the Pompidou Centre marking two decades of Because Music. Bangalter, known as one-half of Daft Punk, hadn’t performed publicly since 2009.
Fred again.. teased the appearance earlier in the day, later confirming the collaboration via social media. Their high-energy set included Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’, Mr Oizo’s ‘Flat Beat’, and a Bangalter edit of ‘Signature/Bonus Beats/Needy Girl’.
Reflecting on the moment, Fred again.. shared: “Thomas told me in this lift on the way down to the show that the first time he fell in love with electronic music was in this building in 1992. He also told me he hasn’t played a proper set without the mask on for 24 years.”
