Fresh off their third studio album ‘Open’, Amsterdam duo Dam Swindle have released a new four-track EP titled ‘Backyard Galaxy’. Out now on their own Heist Recordings label, the project sees the pair return to their signature house sound with a set built for the dancefloor.
Where ‘Open’ explored broader musical terrain, ‘Backyard Galaxy’ leans into groove, soul, and rhythm. ‘Feel It Much?’ opens the EP with warm pads, sugary synths, and playful vocal touches — a feel-good cut that’s already been tried and tested in their summer sets. The title track follows with more drive, blending live percussion and Latin elements into a peak-time club jam.
‘Rhythm Baby’ pays tribute to classic US garage with New York-style swing, breezy pads, and jazzy piano stabs. Closing things out is ‘What You Give’, a retro-futurist house cut laced with cosmic synths, punchy drums, and atmospheric vocals.
