The electronic music world mourns the loss of Thomas Brückner, better known as Tomcraft, who has died at the age of 49. His family and friends confirmed his passing in a social media post.
In a heartfelt statement, Brückner’s family shared: “With heavy hearts, we inform you that our beloved father and husband passed away on July 15th, 2024. We will forever carry you in our hearts and love you until we’re reunited again. Sincerely, your family.” The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Tomcraft, a Munich-based DJ and producer, made a significant impact on the progressive house and trance music scene. He first gained recognition in 1996 with hits like ‘Viva’ and ‘Prosac,’ produced in collaboration with Eniac. His 2002 release, ‘Loneliness,’ topped the UK charts a year later.
Thomas released four albums in six years and was a resident DJ at Munich’s KW – Das Heizkraftwerk. He performed for 1.3 million people at Berlin’s Love Parade in 2003 and toured countries like Brazil, Japan, and South Africa.
In 2005, Brückner launched Craft Music, a label dedicated to techno, electro, and house music. His contributions to the music industry have left an indelible mark, and he will be deeply missed.
