One of American dance music’s most standout DJs and producers, Kate Simko combines her Chicago roots with a background in piano and music composition. Kate was welcomed into the dance music scene via the Ghostly /Spectral Sound label alongside Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliot, Seth Troxler, and Mike Servito.
Since then her catalogue has grown to include releases on Get Physical, Hello?Repeat, The Vinyl Factory, Leftroom, No.19, and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint, as well as film scores on LA-based Lakeshore Records. Whether remixing Philip Glass to Guy Gerber, writing for her ensemble London Electronic Orchestra, or co-writing an album with Jamie Jones, Kate’s passion for electronic music shines through. Named one of Chicago’s ‘Top 10 DJs’ by XLR8R Magazine, Kate has performed as a DJ and live act at venues like Berghain, Panorama Bar, Brooklyn Mirage, Warung, fabric, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Movement Detroit, MUTEK, and Eleven in Tokyo.
Kate began DJing on WNUR radio in Chicago where she began with a vinyl-only show. Her main influences as a DJ are Chicago and Detroit heritage, mixed with other raw, jackin’ and cutting tracks from across the globe. Now London-based, Kate launched her live project London Electronic Orchestra, and regularly scores for film and TV. Kate has upcoming EP’s in 2024 on Nervous Records, John Aquaviva’s Definitive Records and Get Physical. This mix was recorded live at the Panorama Stage on a mountaintop at SXM Festival in St. Martin.
