If you’re into live electronic techno, house, funk, and a little liquid weirdness, you may enjoy this 90 minute trip through my mind. The last year got pretty bananas in the studio, with a lot of new ideas turning into records built for the club.

This session features music I’ve been playing throughout my 2026 live sets, including ‘No Brakes All Cake’ and ‘Gold Digger’ from my latest EP on Patrick Topping’s Trick, alongside collaborations, upcoming records, and plenty of unreleased material.

For anyone unfamiliar with my sets, I get my kicks from ripping controllers and gear through Ableton Live. AI is here, but live techno and house still come down to what happens in the moment, with your hands on the machines and the music moving in real time.

California producer and live performer SHADED steps up for EG.1081 with a 90 minute LIVE PA built almost entirely from his own music, including a large amount of unreleased material and tracks developed through his 2026 live sets.

The session arrives following his return to Patrick Topping’s Trick with ‘No Brakes All Cake,’ released in July 2026. The two track EP pairs the title cut with ‘Gold Digger,’ both created during a productive studio period as SHADED rebuilt his live show with fresh material for the summer season.

Behind SHADED is Skyler Taugher, a Southern California artist whose music sits between techno and house, driven by heavy club rhythms, psychedelic touches, funk, and his own vocal ideas. His performances are built around Ableton Live, controllers, and gear, allowing him to rework his records as he plays rather than simply present finished studio versions.

Before launching SHADED as a solo project, Taugher was part of SHDWPLAY, releasing through Dubfire’s SCI+TEC. His solo catalog has since appeared on labels including Trick, Turbo, Senso Sounds, Hot Creations, Desert Hearts, DIRTYBIRD, and Experts Only.

Tiga was an early supporter of his solo work, releasing several SHADED EPs through Turbo. ‘She She’ earned Mixmag’s Tune of the Month, while his music has received support from artists including Loco Dice, The Martinez Brothers, Martin Buttrich, and John Digweed.

His catalog also includes collaborations with Kevin Knapp, Life On Planets, Wet Velvet, MAT.JOE, Mary Droppinz, Harvard Bass, and Black V Neck, alongside remix work for Tiga, Boys Noize, Carlo Lio, Sian, Oliver Huntemann, Dubfire, Christian Smith, Joyce Muniz, and Anabel Englund.

For EG.1081, SHADED brings that catalog directly into his live format. ‘No Brakes All Cake’ and ‘Gold Digger’ sit among unreleased cuts, collaborations, edits, and upcoming music, giving a clear look at where his project stands in 2026.
