Yulio is the artistic alias of Julio Muñoz, a Chilean electronic music producer currently based in Zagreb, Croatia. He has been active in the electronic music scene for more 20 years, initially starting as a DJ in northern Chile before moving to Barcelona in 2003. In 2006, he founded the label Kraftoptical, which has since released more than 90 works from artists worldwide, focusing on experimental and alternative techno sounds .
Yulio’s music blends elements of ambient, IDM, and space music, often exploring themes like retrofuturism, climate change, and the intersection of analog and digital technologies. His notable albums include ‘Future Elqui’ (2013), ‘Contact Interstellar’ (2015), ‘Astronave’ (2018), ‘Earth’ (2019), ‘Venus’ (2021), ‘Cosmic Fractal’ (2023) for Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel, and ‘Symphonies from the Retrofuture’ (2024).
