San Francisco-based Listed productions & bookings boasts over 15 years of showcasing some of the most unforgettable events in the industry. From Tikki boats to Brooklyn’s underground, Listed always delivers inspiring and cutting-edge lineups that balance emerging talent with top artists in the circuit, always aiming to create a warm and intimate vibe for its guests.

An important part of their success is well defined in their motto as her founder Gunita Nagpaul points out; “We strive to make the partygoer as important as the headliner because we think the experience matters. We add personal touches to foster -ridiculous fun for ridiculous people- creating a communal atmosphere that’s long been forgotten in the dance music scene.”

Now, in collaboration with TAMAGO, Listed is one of our main partners as we celebrate 15 Years of Electronic Groove at the Duke Of Tokyo this October 20th in the dutch capital during the Amsterdam Dance Event.

EG: Hi Gunita! Welcome to back EG. It’s an absolute pleasure to have you here with us, as always. Where are you based right now? How have you and Listed been doing?

Gunita Nagpaul: I find myself based between these three places: San Francisco (California), Brooklyn (New York), and close to Daytona Beach, (Florida) in a town called Port Orange. I travel between these three places for personal and professional reasons. It also keeps things interesting for me since the vibe is so different in each one of these cities/states.

Honestly, I have been trying to get back into the groove after the pandemic. It was a super challenging couple of years, so it’s nice to feel the connection again and to be able to travel.

EG: First of all, thank you so much for being a part of our 15-year anniversary celebrations at The Duke of Tokyo during ADE Week!  What can people expect from our get-together?

Gunita Nagpaul: They can expect nothing but positive vibes with collaborators TAMAGO and Electronic Groove. Listed has had an ongoing relationship with Electronic Groove for years, am I’m so happy to celebrate their 15-year anniversary and see how far they have come. We are also stoked to be collaborating with the new decentralized audio streaming platform TAMAGO, which is looking to shift the paradigm for artists.

Expect deeper and more melodic sounds with such a world-class artist lineup of emerging and established artists. Expect to be transported to one of the most unique and dopest spots in Amsterdam, Duke of Tokyo, whose aesthetic closely resembles the back streets of Tokyo.

The best part of this get-together is that it is for a good cause, with all donations going to Save the Children Ukraine.

EG: Any sets from that evening that you are particularly looking forwards to? Anybody you’re looking to catch up with?

Gunita Nagpaul: Honestly, I am looking forward to seeing everyone, as I am familiar with Patrice Baumel and Brian Cid, as they are friends. It will also be cool to check out Borella for the 1st time. We are stoked to have Sinca feature her sound, as she is one of the newest additions to our listed bookings roster.

EG: With over a decade on the dancefloor with Listed, what would you say are the main ingredients for a great event? Are those the same things you had to focus on back when you first started Listed?

Gunita Nagpaul: Proper sound, lighting, decor, and space are everything. A well-curated lineup that brings the right attendees and vibes to the dancefloor. All these details matter if you want to create a memorable experience. For Listed, the success of the event depends on these things and it always has.

EG: Speaking about Amsterdam, what other activities or spots would you recommend?

Gunita Nagpaul: Checking out venues like Shelter, De School, Radion, Bret, and even bigger spaces like WesterUnie and Adam’s Loft. There are so many amazing venues, and it is too hard to see them all. Also just jumping on a bike and strolling through the city and making time for other cultural spots like the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

EG: How do you usually keep entertained on flights? Any new books, movies, or series you’d recommend?

Gunita Nagpaul: Mostly into watching series. ‘Hacks’ on HBO Max was an amazingly funny, dramatic comedy series. ‘Indian Matchmaking’ and even shows as ridiculous as a Bridgerton. I tend to like lighthearted entertainment so I can tune out of my listed work.

Some cool books I just read are a fictional piece by a dear friend Tiffanie Debartolo called ‘Sorrow’ and ‘The New Rules of Aging Well’ by Frank Lipman and Danielle Claro.

EG: What are your thoughts on the current state of the scene? What would you like to see more and less of?

Gunita Nagpaul: I would like to see less formulaic sets and more authentic music vibes being platformed. The art of DJing needs to come back. Artists that thoughtfully curate music and masterfully piece it together to create a proper journey. I would like to see promoters/venues booking more fresh talent and not all the same names at every festival and club.

EG: What’s next for Gunita Nagpaul and Listed? What particular milestones are you looking forwards to now?

Gunita Nagpaul: I am looking forward to a more successful year for Listed Bookings (given the pandemic), especially for some of our more upcoming talent and new additions to our roster. In addition, hosting more Listed events by working in collaboration with TAMAGO to see if we can put control back into the artist’s hands.

EG: Thank you so much for your time, Gunita! We wish you all the best for the future.

Gunita Nagpaul: Thanks EG! See you on the dancefloor!
