Innovative trio Island Hill have unveiled their much-anticipated debut studio album ’Strangers In Paradise’. The new LP is already available to stream and purchase across all major digital platforms via John Digweed’s Bedrock Records.
Island Hill (Al, Barry, and Dibby) came alive in September 2019, when Typhoon LingLing ravaged South Korea and the inhabitants of the volcanic island of Jeju set up what became known as “typhoon parties”, where clubbers came together to share resources and to shelter from the onslaught.
Now, ’Strangers In Paradise’ stands as a snapshot of their time together in Jeju as a communal love of vintage synths, blues guitar, and psychedelic electronic music binds the trio together for an immersive sonic journey.
“Every once in a while, you hear something that really stands out from the crowd. The initial demos that grabbed my attention have slowly matured into what is now a very accomplished body of work. I’m very proud to have an artist album like ‘Strangers In Paradise’ released on Bedrock. You can hear the combination of their musical minds working together on this project, their collective influences and skills synchronizing to deliver such a fantastic album.” says John Digweed himself about the new record.
