Watch Jean-Michel Jarre’s virtual reality show from Notre-Dame

It’s now available on virtual reality devices or as a regular video.

To say goodbye to 2020, the French electronic music artist Jean-Michel Jarre gave a virtual concert called ‘Welcome To The Other Side’. Although the set was filmed in a studio, it was broadcast live in virtual reality within a digital representation of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral.

‘Virtual reality is for the performing arts of today what cinema was for the theater in its beginnings, a kind of curiosity … I believe that virtual reality will become tomorrow, a mode of expression in its own right’, said the producer.

The images combined shots of Jean-Michel Jarre and an avatar interpreting his movements. On his set, the artist included many of the tracks from his Grammy-nominated album ‘Electronica 1: The Time Machine’ and reworked pieces from his albums ‘Oxygène’ and ‘Equinoxe’.
