Electronic duo Maribou State, comprising Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, have released their latest single ‘Dance on the World’. This track is the third offering from their upcoming album ‘Hallucinating Love,’ set to release on January 31st, 2025, via Ninja Tune.
‘Dance on the World’ follows the well-received singles ‘Bloom’ and ‘Otherside,’ the latter featuring longtime collaborator Holly Walker. These tracks have garnered support from prominent music publications and radio personalities, including Pitchfork, NME, and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders.
Due to high demand, Maribou State has added a third show at London’s Alexandra Palace on February 16, 2025. These performances hold special significance for the duo, following Chris Davids’ recovery from surgery for a rare brain condition.
In addition to their UK shows, Maribou State has announced an extensive North American tour for Spring 2025, marking their first full band performances on the continent in six years. The tour will include stops in major cities such as New York, Boston, Chicago, and Toronto.
‘Hallucinating Love’ posed challenges for Maribou State, with personal struggles and health issues complicating its production. Despite setbacks, including Chris’s surgery in November 2023, the album showcases their resilience. Collaborating with Holly Walker and Andreya Triana, it blends ambitious production with intimate songwriting, balancing intricate soundscapes and their signature atmospheric style.
