German singer-songwriter and producer Monolink has released his much-anticipated second studio album by the name of ‘Under Darkening Skies’. The LP is out today, June 11th, via Embassy One, Ultra Records (North & South America), and Sweat It Out (Australia & NZ). This new material comes 3 years after the release of the highly acclaimed ‘Amniotic’.
The new album is comprised of twelve new original productions, which include the recently released ‘Otherside’ and ‘The Prey’, and showcases Monolink’s characteristic blend of indie-folk songwriting and pulsating melodic techno.
‘‘Under Darkening Skies’ is an album that’s connecting different dots in my life, representing phases or moments I went through. I wanted to go back to writing actual songs again instead of adding vocals to a beat, which gave me the freedom to express more musical facets of myself. Eventually, it became the most diverse record I have made so far, influenced by a time of global social and economic uncertainty at an ever-increasing tempo of change. Like a dark cloud approaching,’ explains Monolink himself.
