Latin American psychedelic pop duo GRLS have just unveiled their debut album, ‘GRLS I’. The new 13-track record is already available to stream and purchase via Mexico City-based label, MOVIDA MÚSICA.

‘GRLS I’ paints a comprehensive picture, showcasing the beautiful, yet surreal world which the duo draws inspiration from. Seamlessly transitioning from darkness to light-filled rooms, GRLS cover an impressive amount of ground that sees the duo express a wide array of emotions through club-ready cuts to pensive, reflective atmospheres.

‘….we were on academic probation at Berklee for throwing parties in our dorm room, skipping, and failing classes; all of this because of our urgent need to be working on our own project. This album was like having a white canvas with infinite possibilities and no limits for us…a disregard for genres’ recalls GRLS about their early motivations, which saw them inspired by artists such as Mura Masa and Shygirl, PinkPantheress and her use of drum & bass rhythms, as well as the lyricism and flow of artists like Slowthai and FKA Twigs.
