After ten years of shaping his identity within Mexico’s electronic music circuit, Theus Mago has released his debut album, ‘MUN/SEA’, via DGTL Records.

Spanning ten tracks, ‘MUN/SEA’ finds Theus Mago — real name Mateo — stepping beyond his earlier club-focused output to explore a broader sonic palette. From the fast-paced energy of ‘The F-Train’ to the percussive force of ‘Casa Furiosa’, the album merges playful synthwork, modular textures, and cinematic storytelling. Tracks like ‘Do Androids Dream Of Dinosaurs?’ reveal a lighter, more whimsical touch, while the heartfelt ‘Kuni Kuni’ features vocal contributions from Mago’s three-year-old son.

“The album has its ups and downs, its bright moments and dark moments. Just like parenthood,” Mateo explains. He describes the LP as a “disguised homage” to his son, reflecting personal transformation and emotional depth through each composition.

Launched in 2014 during his time in Paris, Theus Mago’s project drew early influence from acts like David Shaw and The Beat, La Mverte, and It’s a Fine Line. Now based in Mexico City, ‘MUN/SEA’ marks a full-circle return to those inspirations.
