Ukrainian techno duo Woo York mark their latest Watergate Records appearance with his new 2 track EP ‘Sanctum’.
The release pairs dance-floor bite with reflective depth. Opener ‘The Red Room’ rides driving bass lines and acid-laced textures, aiming squarely at peak-time intensity. Its counterpart, title track ‘Sanctum’, shifts the mood inward, layering ethereal tones and vocal fragments into a narrative of loss, resilience, and belonging—an echo of the artists’ ongoing displacement from their homeland.
Written “between worlds, one lost and one newly built”, the EP channels themes of exile and hope while retaining the duo’s trademark hypnotic groove. Woo York balance futurist sonics with personal storytelling, crafting a brief yet cohesive journey that begins with raw propulsion and lands in contemplative release.
