Trentemøller has announced his new studio album, a self-titled record scheduled for release on November 13th, 2026.
The Danish artist has introduced the album with its first single, ‘Terrified’, featuring vocals from Mew’s Jonas Bjerre. Bjerre also directed the accompanying music video.
Trentemøller describes ‘Terrified’ as the album’s most pop-oriented track, explaining that its original version leaned more heavily into shoegaze before he reshaped the production around a clearer and more defined synth palette.
“When the instrumental was done, I sent it to Jonas Bjerre with a few melody ideas, which he took further while adding new melodies of his own,” Trentemøller says.
Bjerre’s lyrics address fear and anxiety, with the song exploring the way the mind can process imagined scenarios and possible catastrophes.
