New Faces: Martin Kinrus

Martin Kinrus is a talented techno producer and DJ known for his complex and hypnotic sound. His music is both elegant and dark, creating a unique listening experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression on his audience.

 He has quickly gained a reputation in the industry, with his tracks being supported by some of the biggest names in techno, including Richie Hawtin, Rebuke, Victor Ruiz, Metodi Hristov, Ida Enberg, Ramon Tapia, and Sian.

Fresh from the drop of his ‘Cosmic Energy’ EP via VOLTA, we caught up with Martin Kinrus to learn more about his story.

Electronic Groove: What’s your real name, and where were you born?

Martin Kinrus: Believe it or not my real name is Martin Kinrus. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina

EG: Can you describe your music in 3 words?

Martin Kinrus: Dark, complex, and hypnotic.

EG: Where are you based?

Martin Kinrus: I’m based in the north of Buenos Aires.

EG: What labels have you released on in your career?

Martin Kinrus: VOLTA, Octopus Recordings, Unrilis, AnalyticTrail, and Set About.

EG: Can you tell us 3 artists you aspire to / have influenced you?

Martin Kinrus: Victor Ruiz, Wehbba, and Enrico Sangiuliano.

EG: How long have you been producing music? What was your first signed release?

Martin Kinrus: I have been producing music since I was a teenager, more than 10 years for sure. My first signed release was named ‘Cats and Dogs’ on Egothermia Records.

EG: Three things you can’t live without on the road when touring?

Martin Kinrus: My laptop, my headphones, and my Kindle with books. Reading inspires me a lot!

EG: Can you tell us about your next release?

Martin Kinrus: My next release was made behind a concept that goes beyond music. Sci-Fi books and films are part of my daily inspiration dose. So I was trying to bring that feeling to my EP. Give the listener the sensation of traveling through hyperspace!

EG: One piece of advice you can give to other aspiring producers?

Martin Kinrus: Be yourself, and try to express who you are through music. I think is important to be authentic and give the best of you!
