BBC Radio 1 DJ and producer Pete Tong has revealed his latest project, a new label, Places & Spaces. The imprint, set to roll out its catalog in 2025, mirrors the artist’s long-running instinct as a tastemaker, focusing on records that shape his club sets and aim straight for the dance floor.

“Places & Spaces is a personal imprint, a private gallery for the records that truly move me. It’s about what excites me, resonates on the dance floor, and lives on in those special places and spaces we call clubs. This label is driven by feeling, not formulas,” Tong commented.

The imprint’s first musical offering brings Italian producer AVG and London-based singer-songwriter Obi Franky together on the ‘Days & Nights’ EP.

Across the release, the pair weave afro-house textures with storytelling drawn from Homeric lore. “Our EP draws inspiration from the myth of Ulysses and the sirens on the Amalfi Coast, and where their enchanting songs lured sailors to their doom,” AVG explains.Obi and I wanted to create an EP that captures that magic, nostalgic summers, and a bit of fun all wrapped up in our appreciation for afrohouse.”

‘Days & Nights’ sets a clear direction for Places & Spaces, with Tong envisioning the label as a home for “timeless electronic music for the soul.”
