The material premiered on August 5.

‘Distant Dancefloors’ is the name of the new Pioneer DJ documentary that shows how the global pandemic caused by coronavirus has affected global club culture after overnight venues were forced to close and clubs stopped hosting live events.

The film features commentary from DJs and producers such as Blond:ish, Eats Everything, Honey Dijon, Luciano, Rebuke, as well as from industry experts, including Kevin Watson, author of the Business Report for the International Music Summit; Paul Reed of the Independent Festivals Association, and others.

‘Distant Dancefloors’ seeks to answer details about the future of the industry through the opinion of the aforementioned artists and experts. ‘Will video streaming become the new normal? Will streaming continue to be popular once we return to the clubs? (…) What has been the impact felt by the hundreds and thousands of people whose livelihoods depend on the industry? Can the dance floor exist in an age of social distancing? ‘Distant Dancefloors’ investigates’, added the Pioneer DJ team.
