Richie Hawtin (under his Plastikman alias) and Chilly Gonzales have shared their new collaborative studio album, ‘Consumed In Key’. The new record is already out via Turbo Recordings, both digitally and as a deluxe triple vinyl LP.
‘Consumed In Key’ is a reimagining of Plastikman’s 1998 masterpiece ‘Consumed’, which is now transformed into a collaborative effort between the two producers, with Tiga participating as an Executive Producer.
‘To hear ‘Consumed’, to hear the freedom in how it was made, and to hear the confidence within which it stands behind so few elements was almost like a threat I had to respond to’, says Gonzales about his interactions with Hawtin’s ‘Consumed’, who then began to compose accompanying piano pieces for each track from the original album.
In line with the announcement, the pair also shared a short film directed by Berlin-based director Hiroo Tanaka to accompany the drop of ‘Consumed In Key’.
