Dutch DJ and producer Roger Martinez steps in for the latest edition of the EG Records series, delivering a carefully crafted session that reflects the musical approach he has developed across years of DJing and production.
Across the set, Martinez blends cuts from Donato Dozzy and Nuel, Light Spheres, Hunter Game, Mike Rish, Montw, Tantum, Fran Garay, Simos Tagias, Maze 28, Donny Carr, Josh Wink, 8Kays featuring Diana Miro, and I Cube. The session also features several productions by Martinez himself, including ‘Imashaghen’ and ‘Portal’, alongside collaborations such as ‘Shadow Work’ with Simos Tagias.
Martinez developed his musical identity within Amsterdam’s influential club scene during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Surrounded by a generation shaped by artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Secret Cinema, Remy, Dimitri, and Marcello, he adopted a patient approach centered on groove, atmosphere, and long-form storytelling.
That philosophy continues to guide both his DJ sets and studio work. Known for extended performances that unfold gradually, Martinez often employs a four-deck mixing technique that allows him to layer multiple elements simultaneously, creating evolving passages that move through deep house, progressive sounds, and melodic textures.
In the studio, Martinez has built a broad catalog spanning labels including Lost and Found, Sudbeat, Anjunadeep, UV, Plattenbank, Mango Alley, Tronic, and GEM Records. His relationship with EG Records also stretches back several years, including the 2018 release ‘Pied Piper’, a collaboration with Freedo Mosho that remains part of the label’s catalog.
