Russian Linesman has released his new album ‘Remember When We Were Thriving’ via his own Loki Recordings. The 14-track project is designed as a cohesive narrative, moving through melodic electronica, lo-fi textures, irregular rhythms, and recurring emotional themes.
The Nottingham-based producer, real name Jamie Boyer, has worked under the Russian Linesman alias since 2006, developing a conceptual approach built around layered vocals, guitars, pianos, and electronic production. His music has previously received support from BBC 6 Music hosts Nemone and Lauren Laverne, while artists including Nick Warren, John Digweed, Quivver, Maps, Max Cooper, and Laurent Garnier have played his tracks.
Across the album, tracks such as ‘The Shattered Vessel’, ‘Errata’, ‘Why Did You Tell Me You Loved Me’, and the title track establish its introspective tone, while the second half revisits earlier ideas with a warmer and more resolved direction. The closing stretch includes ‘Momentary Impermanence’ and ‘This Is How We Are Supposed To Feel’.
