Berlin-based producer Tantum has unveiled his latest EP, ‘Baires’, marking his first solo appearance on keep my letters — the label he co-founded with Hyunji-A. The three-track release reflects a moment of transition and introspection that helped shape the imprint’s early sound.
Opening with the title track ‘Baires’, the EP captures Tantum’s return to Buenos Aires following time spent in Patagonia during the 2023 We Are Lost Tour. The cut first gained attention through Guy J’s set at Loveland and was originally released on vinyl as part of KMLV001.
The journey continues with ‘Oh Grey World’, a restrained and reflective piece inspired by Berlin’s winter skies. Closing the release, ‘Herbst’ — recorded in a single session at Tantum’s Funkhaus Berlin studio — showcases analog warmth and OB-6 textures, evoking the mood of autumn.
‘Baires’ also signals a milestone in Tantum’s discography. Since debuting on Guy J’s Lost & Found in 2020, he has collaborated with Simon Vuarambon for Bedrock and released music on Radikon, Early Morning, Global Underground, Poker Flat Recordings, and Monaberry, with ongoing support from artists such as Guy J, Lane 8, ZHU, Jonas Saalbach, Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Nick Warren, and Hernan Cattaneo.
Founded in 2024, keep my letters evolved from a Berlin event series into a label with a focus on detailed, progressive-leaning sounds. With its foundation laid by KMLV001, the imprint continues to serve as a home for works by Tantum and Hyunji-A, while spotlighting new voices in house and techno.
